Engine Specs

You’ll find more standard power under the hood of the Ram 1500. Its base 3.6L Pentastar® V6 pumps out 305 horsepower. Compare that to the 3.3L Ti-VCT V6 that’s standard with the F-150. It’s only capable of 290 horsepower.

If you’re looking for the pure pulling power of a diesel engine, you’ll only get it with the Ram 1500. Its available 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine boasts a whopping 480 lb-ft of torque and can cover over 1,000 highway miles on a single tank.

Off-Road Abilities

The Ram 1500 TRX vs. Ford F-150 Raptor: It’s a showdown caked in mud and dust. These off-road-tuned trim levels come with very similar engines. The 6.2L Supercharged HEMI® V8 on board the TRX generates a blistering 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. The High-Output Supercharged 5.2L V8 of the Raptor R manages a comparable 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque.

They also boast a very similar shock system. The Bilstein® Black Hawk® e² shock system of the Ram 1500 TRX, however, takes things a step further. It’s armed with a proprietary control algorithm that’s specifically designed to meet the extreme needs of a performance-tuned truck.

Multiple Functions, 1 Tailgate

Feel free to load up the truck beds with a heavy payload. Each one is built with a strong frame and rests on a versatile suspension.

The Ram 1500 gives you more ways to load up the truck bed, though. First, it lets you get closer to your cargo with an available multifunction tailgate. This 60/40 split gate can open like a set of doors or drop down like a traditional tailgate.

Cargo Capabilities

You can even load up the walls of your truck bed thanks to the RamBox® Cargo Management System, which is only available with the Ram 1500. These built-in storage compartments feature their own locks, so they’re a perfect spot to store tools and valuables. They even include their own drains, which makes it easy to rinse them out—or turn them into portable coolers! Thirsty, anyone?

Cutting-Edge Towing Technology

You can feel comfortable hitching a large trailer, some recreational vehicles, or a boat to both powerful trucks. The Ram 1500 and the Ford F-150 even offer trailering features such as rear back-up cameras, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path and Trailer Detection, and Trailer Sway Control. They even make it easy to back your cargo into place with Trailer Reverse Steering Control.

Infotainment to Match

Whether you need to get directions or put on a great playlist for your drive, both trucks have you covered with state-of-the-art infotainment systems. A 12-inch touchscreen is available in both the Ram 1500 and the Ford F-150. It can guide you with turn-by-turn directions, help you stay in touch, and stream music with the following features:

You’ll be able to view a map of your route in real time on the dashboard of either pickup. Only the Ram, however, lets you see where your next turn is coming up without taking your eyes off the road.
